Come on a short row adventure as we learn how to create this stunning shawl. A fanciful derivative of the Wingspan, the Dreambird uses short rows within short rows to create each feather. Will will use the German Short Row technique as well as the Chinese Waitress Cast On in this class, which uses Mimi’s revised directions for greater clarity.
Homework: With solid color, cast on 130 stitches with Mimi’s Chinese Waitress Cast-on (video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ragBNdHwjg8), then purl 125 sts (leaving 5 unworked at the end)
Please bring: Dreambird pattern (paid pattern on Ravelry), 800 yds solid color fingering weight yarn (such as Cascade Heritage Sock yarn), 400 yds self-striping or gradient yarn (such as Noro Silk Garden Sock), size 4/3.5mm circular needle with 32″ cable and size E/3.5mm crochet hook.
